From Our Principal:
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is looking forward to a fabulous new year. I know the teachers and I are!
Did everyone enjoy the classroom holiday performances? The older children really worked hard to learn their songs to share with you. Ms. Mueller’s Kindergarten Class did a nice job decorating Room 6 to make a festive backdrop for each class to use as their stage. They also helped create some very special Reindeer Games for the children to play. I loved the ring toss game of “Put the Wreath on the Antlers,” and I saw some pretty fun- looking “Snowball Catches.” The table games also looked interesting and allowed for our little reindeer to practice their counting and number facts as well as putting different letters together to create words in their sight vocabulary.
The Intermediate Class had their hands full this past December as their classroom elves sure got into a lot of trouble! Peppermint, Tinsel, and Jingle kept the whole school entertained by their little antics. The children loved coming into school to see what little prank they pulled overnight and were anxious to see where they were hiding each day. Sometimes it took hours of searching to find them!
Some Reminders about Safety Practices:
Please do NOT leave your car running in the parking lot while you drop off or pick up your children. It has happened where a car was not placed completely in park, and it rolled across the lot. We do not want anyone getting hurt. Also please be aware that if you leave your car running with the doors unlocked, you risk becoming a victim of purse snatchers who are looking for these opportunities. There have been reports of these incidences at other childcare centers.
Please do not leave children unattended in your car. Please do not leave your children unattended in a car with the engine running. If you need us to help you at drop off or pick up time, please just call and ask.
While Mask Policies keep changing, please note that our policy for all adults entering our building has not changed. Every parent, teacher, and grandparent who enters our school must wear a mask while inside our building. We do keep some masks available for those who may have forgotten to bring one so please ask if you do not see one on our table in the foyer. Thank you!
Also please remember that parents are still not permitted to enter the classrooms when school is in session and other children are present. Please knock on the classroom door, and a teacher will come help you. Thank you!
January menus have been printed and distributed. Please check it for days that you may have to supplement an item due to your child’s allergies, intolerances, or personal preferences.
It is cold outside. Have you switched your child’s extra clothing to weather appropriate ones? They will need long sleeved shirts, long pants, socks, and underwear in their cubbies. Please make sure they have a hat and gloves for outside play as well as a heavier jacket or coat and sturdy shoes. Their names should be placed on all items to avoid any mix-ups. Thank you.
