Dolphin Pride At Chesterbrook Academy North Raleigh, our school is full of Dolphin Pride! Dolphin means showing positive leadership, respect, integrity, kindness, and excellence every day. These ideas help us all work together and be our best. We start each day with the pledge. This special time brings us together as a school family. It reminds us to take care of each other and grow as future leaders. We love celebrating the hard work of our amazing students and teachers. Leadership Opportunities Our leadership opportunities prepare our students to become school leaders of the present, empowering them to thrive as leaders of the global future! Students have the opportunity to participate in Student Council, coordinate multi-grade on-campus activities, host community drives and parent-involvement events, and can even earn eligibility in our chapter of the National Junior Beta Club. Our young leaders learn to collaborate, use critical thinking skills, and work on team building while establishing group goals. They focus on character building, making good choices, and building strong peer relationships. Hispanic Heritage We love celebrating Hispanic heritage at our school. These celebrations help us learn about the many wonderful Hispanic cultures and the growing Hispanic community in our country. We enjoy yummy treats like churros and watch exciting performances. With help from our music and drama teachers, we see dances and listen to the lively music of a mariachi band. These celebrations are a fun way to show how much we appreciate the many beautiful colors and cultures of our world! Book Character Parade Our Book Character parade brings stories to life. Students will pick a book or story, read it, and pick their favorite character. Typically around Halloween, the whole school will bring in their book and dress up for a parade to showcase their love of reading and bringing their chosen character to our very own community. Field Day Field day is a great way for us to show our Dolphin Pride and get active! This event allows all of our students and staff to relish in the amazing nature campus we have. We use the picnic tables, amphitheater, and sport courts to do loads of fun games. The day fosters school spirit, teamwork, leadership, and a love of the outdoors. Learning Buddies Monthly, our upper grades partner with the younger classes to participate in the Learning Buddies program. This allows students of various ages to build strong friendships while igniting each child’s love of discovery and learning exploration! Throughout the year, Buddies read stories together, share new and exciting experiences across a range of S.T.E.A. M. disciplines, enjoy Q & A sessions after completing projects, and more! Learning Buddies builds bonds between grades and confident learners in each class. Outdoor Oasis Our campus is an outdoor oasis. Only here will you find a school surrounded by so much natural beauty. From our amphitheater and sport court to our playgrounds, every area is made to inspire curiosity and creativity. The amphitheater doubles as an outdoor classroom, hosting lessons that connect our students with the environment, and transforms into a stage for performances. Our students love exploring our nature trail and outdoor learning area! They do fun, hands-on activities like science experiments and STEM projects. These adventures help them learn about nature and how things work.
