A Note from our Principal

Dear Families,

April was full of meaningful moments, from celebrating the magic of early childhood during Week of the Young Child to helping our students discover how they can help care for our planet on Earth Day. We’re proud to nurture young changemakers and empower them to make a difference! As we look ahead to May, we’re excited to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week and all the wonderful mother figures in our community.

Important Reminder: DHS Medication Guidelines

As part of our commitment to keeping all children safe and in compliance with state regulations, we’d like to share a reminder regarding Department of Human Services (DHS) guidelines for medication in a childcare setting.

Per DHS regulations:

• All medications (prescription and over-the-counter) must be accompanied by a completed Medication Authorization Form signed by a parent/guardian; these forms are only elliagable to be filled out for 2 week time periods.
• Medications must be in their original container with the child’s name and clear dosage instructions
• Prescription medications must include a pharmacy label with the prescribing physician’s information
• We are unable to administer any medication without the proper documentation on file
• All medications must be handed directly to a staff member—please do not place medication in your child’s bag
• Medicine is not to be kept at school as a “just-in-case” situation. If the medication authorization form runs out, medication MUST be taken home with child during appropriate timeline.

This policy helps ensure the safety, accuracy, and proper administration of all medications within our care.

If your child requires medication during the school day, please reach out to us so we can provide the necessary forms and support.

Teacher Appreciation Week

May 4 – 8 is Teacher Appreciation Week – the perfect time to celebrate our amazing teachers and share our gratitude for the care, inspiration, and encouragement they provide our students each day. They shape the heart of our school community, and we are so fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented team!

AAP

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. In celebration, we will explore the culture and traditions of the AAPI community!

Vacation Credit Request

If you are traveling this summer and would like to use you vacation credit, please be sure to submit it 2 weeks in advance! This can be done using the QR code in the vestibule or the survey link here! Please be sure to read the policy at the top of the request form and as always let us know if you have any questions!

Our Kindergarten Enrichment summer program, specifically designed for rising kindergarteners, provides the best of both worlds – preparation for success in kindergarten + summer camp fun! Share this special program with your friends and family!
