From Our Principal:
Happy Fall! October promises to be such an exciting month for all of us. Each class will be learning about the wonderful seasonal changes taking place and making many colorful crafts to decorate their rooms and hallways. Some classes will experience the joy of making homemade applesauce and savoring its wonderful aroma and taste while listening to stories about Johnny Appleseed.
All classes will share in the excitement of Halloween. Each classroom will decorate a pumpkin to put on display in our lobby and celebrate the holiday with individual classroom parties. The children will be given the opportunity to dress up in their favorite costumes.
We will also encourage families to participate in our Scarecrow Contest. Last year we sponsored our First Annual Scarecrow Contest and were amazed at the creativity our families had. We placed the scarecrows around the parking lot for all to enjoy and then asked everyone to vote on their favorite one. The winner received a special prize.
October is also Fire Safety Month. The children learn about fire prevention and how to stop, drop, and roll. We ask families to remember to check their smoke detectors and change their batteries. While we practice our school fire drills, we encourage you to practice one at home as well. Pick a family meeting spot and show your children the best way to get there.
Please remember to update your children’s extra change of clothes from shorts to long pants, long sleeved shirts, and extra socks. Please send in a lightweight jacket for outdoor play as the days start to get cooler. Please label these items-especially the jackets to avoid any mix-ups. Thank you!
As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and follow the policies and guidelines set forth by our licensing agents, we ask that you help us follow them closely to remain compliant. All children aged 2 and above must wear a mask while inside the building. The only exception to this is if you have a medical note from your doctor stating that your child cannot or should not wear a mask. This note must be brought in and placed in your child’s file.
All adults entering the building must wear a mask as well. We thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Remember to schedule your child’s well visits and bring in a copy of the Health Assessment Form for your child’s file.
Some Dates to Keep in Mind:
