June News

From the Principal:

Can you believe it?  It is June!  Wow!  It is so hard to believe that the school year is about to come to an end and that the Kindergarten Class will be graduating.  Where did the time go?  I remember when some of those graduates were infants and toddlers and just starting their educational journey with us.  My have they grown!  It has been so much fun watching them grow and learn and become the confident first graders to be.  Thank you, Kindergarten Class and Parents, for sharing this special time in your life with all of us.  It has been a pleasure getting  to know you all.

June has its endings, but it also has its beginnings.  We are excited to start Summer Camp on Monday, June 12th.  Ms. Heather, who is our Camp Director, has planned some pretty awesome visitors and activities for us all to enjoy.  We will be hosting Mad Science and Yogi Dance again as well as bringing on some new people to entertain us with their music, stories, and talents.  We will have water play again, AND we will have a new playground to enjoy!

It is hard to believe that the playground is really happening, but the excitement everyone feels as we watch it being constructed is definitely obvious.  Our Water Play will be a lot nicer on the turf surface, and the shade canopy will certainly provide a lot of relief from the hot sun.  It all will be so wonderful and greatly appreciated!

Please remember that closed toe shoes are the requirement for outdoor play.  We want to avoid stubbed toes or trips and falls.  The first application of sunscreen should be applied at home before coming to school, and the teachers will apply the second coat before going outside in the afternoon.  On water play days, children should come dressed in  their bathing suits with a shirt and shorts over top.  A towel and extra clothes should be brought in and placed in your child’s cubbie.  A waterproof bag would also be great to place the wet bathing suit and towel in after water play.  Water shoes are welcome for water play.  Flip flops can be dangerous once wet and with the children running around under the sprinklers.

As a gentle reminder, tuition payments are due the Friday before the upcoming week or on the Monday of the current week.  If you are going on vacation, please remember to fill out  Vacation Request Form and also send a reminder to Chrissy and me the week before you go.  Vacation Credit is earned after your child has attended 6 consecutive months.  Your one week of vacation credit runs from July 1st to June 30th.  You earn a new bank of credit the next July 1st.  Please keep your account payments current to avoid any disruption in service.  Anyone who has let their account become two weeks behind will not be able to attend until all monies due have been paid.  Please don’t let that happen to you.  Thank you!

Have you updated your child’s extra clothes to reflect the warm weather?

Does your child have his/her own water bottle ?  Please remember to send it in each day.  We will refill it throughout the day for them as we want them to keep hydrated.  Thank you.
