Cheetah Fierce Each month, Chesterbrook Academy Elementary and Middle School in Cary picks one student who shows our character trait of the month. Teachers choose students who do amazing things, like being extra helpful or kind. During our school-wide assembly, the chosen student is celebrated on stage. They get a special pawprint and bracelet as a reward. Being “Cheetah Fierce” means more than school pride. It is about being kind, working hard, and inspiring others to do the same. This program helps everyone at our school remember how important it is to care for and respect each other. Teaching with Love & Logic We use the concept of “Teaching with Love & Logic” to create a caring classroom. Teachers and students work together to set expectations instead of having strict rules. This helps our students learn to make good choices and solve problems on their own. By sharing responsibility, our students learn how to be kind, responsible, and thoughtful members of their community. Seasonal Community Festivals At Chesterbrook we work hard and play hard! Our seasonal festivals, like Fall Fest and Spring Fling, are special times for students, parents, and teachers to have fun together. At Fall Fest, children play games like Knock-em-Down and Rope-a-Calf while parents talk and laugh with each other and our staff. Teachers and staff help with all of the activities, making sure everyone has a great time. These events are full of smiles, laughter, and a warm feeling of community that brings us closer together. Pulsera Project & Hispanic Heritage Month For Hispanic Heritage Month, our Spanish teacher leads our partnership with the Pulsera Project. Students sell colorful bracelets, called pulseras, made by artists in Central America. While selling the bracelets, our students learn about Fair Trade and the rich culture of Latin America. The money raised helps the artists and their families with things like education, housing, and community programs. This is a fun way for our students to help others and learn about the world. Family Movie Night Family is at the heart of everything we do at our private school! One of our most loved events is Family Movie Night. Families come together to watch a movie and enjoy snacks from a concession stand run by our students. This event is about more than just watching a movie. It teaches teamwork and gives everyone a chance to connect, relax, and enjoy being part of our amazing school community! Language Program All of our students have the exciting opportunity to learn both Spanish and Mandarin! They explore these languages through hands-on activities like songs, games, and stories. As they practice new words and phrases, they also discover the cultures behind the languages, helping them understand and appreciate the world. Our program helps students grow their minds, make connections with others, and be prepared to be global citizens. You Belong Here We want our students to not only love coming to school, but to be reminded that all are welcome. Our motto is “You Belong Here” because our school is not just a place to learn, but a place to love. We pride ourselves in fostering a community where everyone belongs, feels valued, and is shown they matter. We use verbal encouragement to remind our school community that they are a part of this big family. We view diversity as an asset and proactively keep our community colorful, just like our beautiful “You Belong Here” mural!
