I am very pleased that you are part of our classroom community for the 2017/2018 school year.
My classroom website is a convenient way to stay connected to everything that’s happening in our class. Beginning in August, you will find our weekly class schedule, classroom announcements, upcoming events, and topics that the students will be learning. You can contact me via email with any questions you may have throughout the school year. My email is Marissa.Schwartz@nlcinc.com.
All About Me…
I have been a part of the Chesterbrook family for 5 years! I taught Intermediates and Pre-K 2 at our Exton Pre-School and have taught two years of Kindergarten here at CBA Elementary School in West Chester before transferring here to CBA Elementary School in Oaks to teach Pre-K. I am excited to share my love of reading, singing, and learning with each of you and your children throughout the year! I live in Limerick with my husband, and my son Odin. Together, we love going to the beach for long weekends, taking calming hikes along the Perkiomen Trail, and getting together with friends and family as we enjoy local cuisine.

Classroom Notes
This week in Mrs. Schwartz’s Class
This week, PreK will wrap up their study of plants as we plant our germinated vegetable sprouts, and begin to transition to our ABC Boot Camp Countdown! Each day of the week for the remainder of the year, students will be re-examining each letter of the alphabet and all of it’s sounds and shapes. For each day, students will participate in special activities to help them remember the importance of each letter, and how to identify the letter in the beginning, middle and end of different words.
Students will also be practicing various math skills through the next month as we assess, challenge, and assist each friend to make sure they are prepared for summer! We will be discussing adding, subtracting, word problems, greater than, less than, equal to, 2D shapes, 3D shapes, patterning, sequencing, graphing, and organizing data.
This week for ABC Boot Camp Countdown:
Wednesday, May 2nd: Z stands for Zoo- Elmwood Zoo Field Trip
Thursday, May 3rd: Y stands for Yellow- Dress in as much yellow as you can find!
Friday, May 4th: X stands for X-Ray- students will create an x-ray of their very own as we examine what different x-rayed items look like (insects, plants, bones, toys, etc.)
