Choosing CBA

We know that parents have a lot of choices for their child’s education. So, why do families choose Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School and stay with us until their child graduates? It’s because so many wonderful things happen at our private school, #OnlyatCBA. Let us tell you more!

What is Pride Time?

Every morning, the entire school gathers together to say the Pledge, share important updates for the day, and celebrate our achievements. Whether it is a 7th birthday, a lost tooth, becoming the Grand Champion in First in Math, or earning a paw print for leading the Kindness Pledge, we take pride in recognizing the accomplishments of our students. Pride Time embodies the spirit of our school. It allows us to come together to celebrate what it truly means to be a Chesterbrook Lion.

Kindergarten Character Day

Students pick their favorite book and write a book report in their own words. At the end of the project, they dress up as their favorite character from the book and take the stage. They share their character with classmates and parents. It is one of our favorite events, and we know that you will love it too!

Kindergarten Invention Convention

Students learn about the engineering design process. They use Kinazium to make interactive mazes and Sphero Indi squares to program cars that move through the maze. They watch their cars follow the paths they created! During a special presentation, students show their work to their proud parents. It is a big step in learning about technology and trying new ideas.

2nd Grade Wolf Sanctuary Benefit

Second graders spend time learning about wolves—their homes, how they live, and their history. They visit the Wolf Sanctuary of Lititz and hold an ice cream sale to help the Sanctuary. The children do everything! They get the ice cream, make posters to tell everyone, and sell the ice cream to friends. At the end, they visit the Sanctuary, give their donation, and pick a wolf to “adopt.” It is an exciting way to learn and give back.

3rd-5th Grade Food Truck Festival

Students have fun at our annual Spanish Food Truck festival. In Technology class, they work together to draw colorful logos and record fun commercials to share their ideas. In Spanish class, they design custom food trucks out of shoeboxes and create menus with authentic Spanish food. Each food truck has its own unique kind of food.

4th Grade App Design Challenge

As an Apple Distinguished School, we are proud to offer innovative learning experiences like our 4th Grade App Design Challenge. In this showcase, students start by asking, “What problem could I solve in my community?” They then brainstorm, plan, prototype, and share an original app designed to address this issue. This project allows our students to collaborate, think critically and creatively, and make connections that extend beyond the classroom walls.

4th and 5th Grade Overnight Trip to Washington, D.C.

Our 4th and 5th graders take an unforgettable 3-day trip to Washington, D.C. They explore the Capitol, participate in a ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, visit the Washington Monument, and even cruise around the city on motorized scooters! The trip gives our students the chance to dive into history, experience the nation’s capital, and create lasting memories with their friends.

Outdoor Learning

Our school’s greenhouse is a special part of our outdoor learning spaces! It’s where our students get hands-on experience planting and growing vegetables. This is also tied to our partnership with the Chester County Food Bank! They provide us with seeds for growing crops like lettuce, spinach, potatoes, tomatoes, squash, and kale. Once our veggies are ready, we share the produce with the Food Bank to help others in our community.

We also have an outdoor stage that adds to the excitement of our school. It is used for performances, ukulele practice, graduations, and special events. This space lets students shine and be creative while making great memories.
