2018-2019 School Year
August 15, 2019 – June 2, 2020
As we embark on a new school year, it is imperative that we review VPK policies.
- Per State requirements, VPK student attendance is mandatory. Absences will require a doctor’s note. Children who are not attending on a regular basis may be subject to dis-enrollment. Our program is in demand. We currently have a waiting list for students wanting to attend VPK at Chesterbrook Academy.
- VPK classes are required to begin at 9:00 am SHARP! VPK instruction is only 3 hours a day and teachers need to start their daily routines on time. Please be sure to have your child ready to join the class a few minutes before the day begins.
- Drop-off is not the time to chat with your child’s teacher. Please schedule a specific time to meet if you would like to discuss your child’s progress or any concerns you may have.
- VPK dismissal is at 12:00 pm SHARP! Please be sure to pick up your child within 5 minutes of dismissal time. Instruction must resume for full-time students and teachers need to follow their daily schedule directly following VPK. Chronic late pick-ups are subject to late fees and or dis-enrollment.
Thank you for your support!

A Powerful Connection to a Lifetime of Learning
Your children experience the perfect balance of learning and play in a safe, nurturing environment. Our Links to Learning (LTL) curriculum prepares them for kindergarten by introducing concepts in reading, math, art, music and much more. You will receive progress updates, as well as ideas to continue learning at home.
You can expect to receive daily communication and pictures via email through our Links 2 Home program. And, we also encourage you to take a few moments each week to review your child’s classroom Links to Learning “Parent Board”, so you can “Link” to your child’s early education experiences. Posted are “Weekly Skills”, “Lesson Plan”, “Daily Schedule”, “Monthly Spanish” and “Learning Outcomes”.
SIGN-IN & SIGN OUT:
Signing your child in and out daily is not only a licensing and company policy but, an added security measure, which ensures all children are accounted for while in our care. PLEASE, BE DILIGENT ABOUT RECORDING YOUR CHILD’S ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES USING THE IPAD LOCATED NEAR THE FRONT DOOR. Thank you!
TUITION:
We have seen a recent increase in families missing tuition payment deadlines. We really must collect tuition in a timely manner to meet our financial obligations. Please remember that tuition is due the 1st business day of every week. Accounts not paid in full by 12:00pm the second business day of every week are subject to late fees. If tuition is not paid in full your child may not attend until the balance is paid in full. Failure to comply with tuition policies will result in a notice of dis-enrollment. If you’d like to sign up for our ACH program, which automatically pulls your weekly tuition from the account of your choice the 1st business day of every week, just let us know and we will get you signed up. You also have access to paying online through our website and the ALMA parent portal.
ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FEES:
If your child is signed up to attend a specific enrichment program, the monthly fee must be paid in full the first week of every month or your child may not attend the second week. Please understand, we are obligated to pay our physical fitness vendors in a timely manner for their services. Credits will not be issued for missed classes due to absence or non-payment.

November 2019 News
November Newsletter
The school year is fast underway. We are already almost halfway through the year. The holidays are around the corner, and the children are learning so much information!!! We have been having such an exciting time here at Chesterbrook and we are so excited to share our daily lives with you and your children.
As the weather is turning colder make sure that your child has the proper change of clothing in their cubby. All children, regardless of age, should have at least one complete change of clothing in their cubby. This includes children who are potty trained, as messy play and accidents do occasionally happen. We do not have extra changes of clothes stored at the school, so if your child does not have a change of clothing, you will be called to come provide one for your child.
We will be having our Yankee Candle Fundraiser this month. Look for more details in the front.
If you took a shoebox for Operation Christmas, we are asking that they be returned by Wednesday, November 6th so that we can get them to where they need to go in time for the holidays. Thank you for helping out children who may not otherwise receive anything for the holiday season.
On Thursday, November 7th we will be taking part in Scholastics annual Read for the Record. The book this year we will be reading is called “Thank you, Omu.” Each Pre-k child will be given a copy to take home with them and share with their families.
Saturday, November 16th we will be having an Open House. We encourage all the families to invite their friends to attend. Remember, if a family enrolls and stays enrolled for 90 days after you referred them, you will get a credit on your tuition.
On Tuesday, November 26th we will be hosting our annual Thanksgiving luncheon. The luncheon is $8 per person. This includes the child. There is no other option for lunch on this day. All parents, grandparents, etc are invited to attend. Lunch orders MUST be in by November 15th.
On Wednesday, November 20th we will have Wacky Wednesday. In celebration of National Absurdity Day, we are encouraging the children to dress as absurd as you can think of!
On Wednesday, November 20th we will be having the 5th grade students from Sagemont Lower School come to read with our Pre-K children. We are so excited to be able to host these students and have our children learn the love of reading through interacting with older children.
We will be hosting a blood drive with One Blood on Wednesday, November 13th. Donate for a good cause!
Check out our Ancillary Programs:
We are offering Amazing Athletes on Mondays. Amazing Athletes is a sports program that encompasses 9 different sports and character development. They also teach good nutrition choices. Amazing Athletes is $50 per month. To sign up see the front office.
On Tuesdays for younger children and Wednesdays for VPK children, we will continue our dance program. They are exposed to jazz, hip-hop and ballet style of dance.
