February Newsletter 2016
Happy February! Even though this is a short month, there is a lot to do and experience!
Please see our Activity Calendar on our Lobby Parent Board or on our website.
We start the month with a STEM project, predicting if the Ground Hog will see his shadow or not, and then graphing the results. We will of course celebrate whoever our favorite team is or who wins the Super Bowl on Monday, February 8th. We have one family event planned this month–Sweetheart’s Night Out! Allow us to care for your children while moms and dads sneak to have a dinner out for Valentine’s Day! Cost is $10.00 per child, includes care, craft, a pizza dinner and children can wear their PJ’s! See Miss Wendy or Miss Lauren for more details. Please sign-up if you are interested in next to the parent mailboxes.
In honor of Valentine’s Day and to spread some love to your children we will be selling Bear-a- Grams. Simply purchase a plush bear and add a special note and we will deliver the treat to your child on Friday, February 12th for Valentine’s Day. Bears cost $3.00 each, see Miss Wendy or Miss Lauren. We would request that checks be made to Chesterbrook Academy. Parents may order more than one bear.
Please plan ahead for President’s Day, February 15th; this is the day that is set aside for Professional Development for our teachers. Our schools will be closed this day, but will re-open on Tuesday, February 16th. We are looking for Secret Readers to read to our school, we are looking for two volunteers for the month of February. If there are any grandparents who wish to read or parents who can get away on their lunch break, we would love to have you. Please see the sign-up sheet near the parent mailboxes.
A reminder to all, please remember to sign your child in and out at the parent table and to check your parent mailboxes for any correspondences on a daily basis.
Little Caesar fundraising orders will be entered on Monday, February 1st. Any last minute orders must be received by morning drop off. Expected delivery date of the products is Friday, February 12th after 12 noon. Please make arrangements to please pick up any ordered products that afternoon. The products come frozen but need to be placed in a cold storage as soon as possible.
Please remember to take a peek at our Monthly Board in the entry way or the school website to see our February Calendar and Menu.
In case of inclement weather, please watch WGAL for any delays or closings and your email! Decisions for delays and closing will be alerted in early morning hours of the day in question. I will also send an all school email to alert any changes in the schedule and post on the school website. I am always available by email if there would be a question concerning the weather.
