Happy May Chesterbrook Academy Families! Now more than ever, we are in awe of the flexibility and resilience of our students and families. We have enjoyed seeing you all online the past few weeks and are hopeful that we can be together again soon. In the meantime, we are in the process of planning for summer and have setup a few fun activities for us to do “together” this month. We hope you can join in!
With spring in full bloom around us, our students are blossoming despite the circumstances around them. The April showers have brought us May flowers as well as opportunities for tons of science and math experiences. There are so many learning opportunities for your child simply by exploring your backyard or when you go on walks around the neighborhood. Seeds planted in April are now sprouting in to various flowers, fruits and vegetables. Students can learn about the different parts of a flower and you can talk about all the things plants need to survive. Students can classify flowers by type and sort them by colors. They can even use their sense of smell to experience the different smells of different types of flowers and plants.
Even though we can’t be together to celebrate Mother’s Day this year, we still want to acknowledge all of the amazing things our moms, grandmothers, aunts and mother figures are doing during this challenging time. On Friday, May 8th at 4:30pm we invite you to join us for a Virtual Mother’s Day Tea. Come and enjoy a fun and engaging circle time with your child, and don’t forget to bring your favorite tea or beverage!
We understand that there are many unknowns right now, and are offering our school-age families an opportunity to register for our school- age summer camp for students ages 5-10. You will receive a full refund of any deposit paid if we are unable to offer camp or if your child is unable to attend. Registering for camp now will save your child’s spot in our program and enable us to continue to plan field trips and special events. Please let us know if you’d like to register!
