Happy December!

seasons-greetings-cba

Dear Parents,

Now that the holiday season has arrived, many of us will take the time to visit with family and friends or reconnect with important people in our lives. This type of personal connection is an important part of our school’s philosophy and continues to flourish through our many school events. Meaningful connections between teachers and parents guarantee academic, social, and emotional growth of each of our students. Your participation in our school activities has been amazing! Thank you for your support and ongoing commitment to our Chesterbrook Academy community.

We would like to thank all our families for that was bought for our Christmas Operation Boxes. We collected over 200 boxes for children in need. Thank you for always going over and beyond.

This the season to explore December celebrations, observances, and activities from many cultures. What is another name for St. Nicholas? What is a Menorah? What is a Karamu? The answers to these questions will be highlighted in December lessons that will cover multi-cultural holiday traditions.  Be sure to check out classroom education boards in and outside of your child’s classroom to see evidence of learning fun! Speak to your child’s teacher if you would like to share a special tradition from your family with the class.

VPK Winter break will start on December 24th until January 7th. We have camp for all our alumni or children that are interested in coming. Spaces are limited to only 14 students. Please sign up as soon as possible.

VPK REGISTRATION OPENS IN JANUARY FOR THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR. SO GIVE US A CALL TO SCHEDULE A TOUR TODAY!

Please, take a few minutes this holiday season to visit one of the review websites and share the wonderful experiences you have a had with our school.

SICK_FACE
SICK POLICY:
The purpose of our sick policy is to reduce the spread of illness among our students and to encourage full recuperation of sick children before they return to school.  We depend on parents to assist us in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all of our children.

Children may be sent home if they have any symptoms. Also, a child must be free of all of these symptoms for at least 24 hours before he/she can return to school. These symptoms include:
  •  A Fever of 100 degrees or more
  • Vomiting within the previous 24-hour period
  • Diarrhea within the previous 24-hour period
  • Symptoms of a communicable disease
  • Fussy, cranky behavior and not himself/ herself

Following an illness, a child may return to school once he/she has either been seen by a doctor or it has been determined that illness is not contagious. (A doctor’s clearance may be requested.) Please help us keep all of our children healthy by following these rules. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Thank you for your support!

A Powerful Connection to a Lifetime of Learning

Your children experience the perfect balance of learning and play in a safe, nurturing environment. Our Links to Learning (LTL) curriculum prepares them for kindergarten by introducing concepts in reading, math, art, music and much more. You will receive progress updates, as well as ideas to continue learning at home.

You can expect to receive daily communication and pictures via email through our Links 2 Home program. And, we also encourage you to take a few moments each week to review your child’s classroom Links to Learning “Parent Board”, so you can “Link” to your child’s early education experiences. Posted are “Weekly Skills”, “Lesson Plan”, “Daily Schedule”, “Monthly Spanish” and “Learning Outcomes”.
