Dear Parents,
March is sure to be another busy month at Chesterbrook Academy. Spring is around the corner and teachers are busy planning a variety of fun seasonal activities that will help our students learn more about the many changes which occur in our environment during springtime.
We would also like to thank you for all the toys and monetary donations for Juliana’s 8th annual Lemonade Stand. Juliana raised over $200 for children in need at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Juliana and her mother are so grateful for the big turn out and generous donations. Thank you again and until next year.
Now this is the time to plan for next school year. Our Links to Learning curriculum is designed for a smooth transition as children move into the next stage of their academic journey. It is important to continue your child’s educational momentum by securing your child’s enrollment. We like to give our current families priority in registering for next year as well as a discount to say thank you for your continued support. Starting March 2nd –March 20th we will run our Early Bird Registration promotion. All currently enrolled families who chose to stay with us after June 26th of 2020 will register by providing a check in the amount of $70.00 per child (non-refundable) and complete a pink fee schedule so you are made aware of the tuition rates for the upcoming school year.
After March 20th, 2020 the re-registration rate will be the normal fee of $140.00 per child. We will open registration to all of our families who were on our waiting list all school year and were not able to enroll from Monday, March 23rd – Tuesday, March 31st. On Monday, March 23rd, we will open registration to all of the families who have toured our school and have not joined our waiting list and are just waiting to register for the school year starting July 1st and then on Saturday, March 21st registration will be open to the entire Cooper City community between the hours of 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. during our Open House for new school year.
We invite families to tour other schools before making such a big decision and we are available to schedule tours for our families to visit the next program as well. We invite you to join us for a scheduled tour, or stop in on Saturday March 23rd from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. if that time is more convenient for your family. As always we also invite you to join us during one or all of our upcoming events in March.
Teachers and students in all age groups are working hard at creating new dramatic play centers in their classrooms. Please take a moment to check out what your child’s classroom dramatic play theme will be. Thank you for donating items or letting us borrow items to make dramatic play a quality experience. Dramatic play can be defined as a type of play where children accept and assign roles, and then act them out. It is a time when they break through the walls of reality, pretend to be someone or something different from themselves, and dramatize situations and actions to go along with the roles they have chosen to play. And while this type of play may be viewed as frivolous by some, it remains an integral part of the developmental learning process by allowing children to develop skills in such areas as abstract thinking, literacy, math, and social studies, in a timely, natural manner.
We would like to thank all parents that participated in our PAR surveys. We are so grateful to be able to hear your thoughts and opinions and are taking them to heart to make changes at our school. We greatly appreciate all the praise for our staff, school, and curriculum.
